The Cicely Mary Barker Flower Fairies* heard that Elf was chopping wood for the winter and they wanted to help (and have fairy cakes and honey mead). For it is well known that Fairies will look for any excuse to have a party and refreshments.
So a whole band of them showed up for a visit at the same time. The Wayfaring Tree Fairy has a new digital camera and tried to get them all to stand still and look into the camera for a group shot. Fairies are very independent, so this picture (taken by Christopher aka Merlin) turned out to be the best one that was taken that fine day.

Number 8 (who seems to be flirting with the Hawthorn Fairy by ruffling his wings) is related to Number 16 . He is the Nightshade Fairy. The others who are 'related' are: #21 & 19 (Elf), #12 & 37(Daisy), #11 & 35(Geranium), #14 & 27(Lime Tree), #30 & 28(Acorn), #4 & 17(Black Medick Boy) and #15 & 36(Eyebright).
